This was my fourth trip to Club Med Punta Cana and it gets better and better. The new renovation is stunningly gorgeous with many well thought out details for an optimal member experience. Everything was so inviting that we wanted to experience it all. We spent a lot of time at the new bar/entertainment area, which has an abundance of well designed seating areas. The aperitif hour was a favorite prelude to dinner and quickly became our early evening routine. We also made a couple trips a day to the new coffee bar for those yummy chocolate croissants and my grandson’s favorite chocolate chip muffins. We looked forward to our yummy breakfasts and dinners at Indigo, our favorite restaurant. As always, there is something fun and exciting happening throughout the day. Some of our favorites were swimming in mama-ocean, the water park/water slides (where we laughed so hard and got to be a kid again), the foam party, the Legends Show (Michael Jackson) and the Circus show, live music, archery, and dancing under the moonlight.
We were very disappointed they discontinued our favorite “Ruby Show.” If parents are uncomfortable and feel it’s inappropriate for their kids, just don’t go and do something else. There are shows I don’t attend by choice. Please allow all of us that do want to see it have our choice to do so. I heard they may bring it back to the Zen “adult only” area, but my daughter and I still wouldn’t be able to see it because of my grandson. By popular demand please bring back the “Ruby Show"!!!
Why do we return to Club Med Punta Cana twice a year? The people are so warm, welcoming, caring and friendly, and genuinely treat us like we’re family. We have made many wonderful connections and relationships over the years. Each time we return, they give us big hugs and say, “welcome home family”. We also love and appreciate the VIP treatment.

Chloe is an AMAZING supervisor in reception. She really listened to our concerns and preferences regarding our ideal rooms and location, and delivered beyond our expectations. It was the first time that we were able to arrive and directly check into rooms that we loved:) Thank you Chloe for making our stay exceptional!
Sephara in guest relations was so helpful and one of our main points of contact whenever we needed anything. She is very patient and did whatever she could to make sure our stay was enjoyable..
Leika in guest relations is a sweet delightful presence and every encounter with her made us smile:)
Miguel is a bright light who always greeted us with love and joy. He checked in regularly to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. His charisma, natural leadership, and genuine love of people and what he does is evident that he is destined to be the Chief of Village.
I was immediately drawn to Anto because of his beautiful radiant presence and smile. He is a masterful mixologist. Really… his drinks are that good! As I watched him make drinks for a family with so much love, light and joy, I decided I wanted him to make our drinks. He quickly became our favorite bar tender and we learned he is the supervisor of all the bars. We became fast friends. We admire the gracious efficient way he oversees all the bars. He is a natural leader and we know he is destined for great opportunities. Although, Anto is our preferred bartender, I want to acknowledge all of the wonderful bartenders who greeted us warmly, provided wonderful service and made our favorite drinks while entertaining us with their mixology skills!
Chef Jackson is so sweet, gracious, attentive and exemplary in meeting every one of our special requests. I also appreciate his leadership Whenever we show appreciation for him, he always redirects that praise to the efforts of his team:) Thank you Chef Jackson for making our trip exceptional!
Assistant Chef Fekiel is sooooo sweet, hardworking, and takes great care to provide excellence in everything he does. He always made sure we were completely satisfied. He went above and beyond to meet our special requests and even made us an amazing fried fish plate to go on our last day! Please give him a promotion… he deserves it!!!
Our beloved Chef Antonio was on vacation most of our stay. We have so much love, appreciation and respect for him. We are so grateful we got to see him briefly before we left. He is always a highlight of our trip!
Vinay is an assistant manager at Indigo restaurant. One morning, our breakfast experience was disappointing and we let Vinay know what happened. He immediately had us speak to his manager who listened intently to my concerns and suggestions. He really heard me and kept apologizing sincerely. Every experience from that day on until we left was amazing. We had a team of people catering to us and making sure everything was to our liking. I appreciate that one not-so-good experience could up-level the quality of experience for all. I really appreciate the way Vinay and the manager handled that situation so well, inputting my suggestions, and the entire Indigo team that stepped up to make the quality of service better for everyone!
Damian is a natural ambassador. His love, warmth and friendliness are contagious. He always makes us laugh. He loves to dance and we love watching him. He kept us informed about fun activities happening each day. It’s wonderful to watch Damien grow and evolve into more leadership.
A special shout out to Josue, who works the pasta station at El Mundo. His sweetness and graciousness are appreciated and remembered. He takes great care in preparing my pasta just the way I like with excellence.
Sofia at Indigo is pure mama-love. So warm, loving and caring. When something wasn’t the way we expected, she would quickly handle it and make sure it was up to our standards. She’s a natural leader and a get-it-done powerhouse. She genuinely loves people and making members happy is important to her.

We missed seeing Yan Camil this trip, the beach bar attendant that walks the beach serving drinks with a joyful gracious presence and bright smile. He makes delicious drinks too. I hope we get to see him on our next trip.
So much love and appreciation for all of the ground keepers who tirelessly keep Club Med so nicely groomed and beautifully maintained.
Areas for improvement:
In a tropical environment it is crucial to routinely service all air conditioners for the health and well-being of everyone. Due to a musty mildew smell, I requested that my air conditioner be cleaned. The first maintenance workers did nothing. They put up a ladder and briefly looked inside the air conditioner, then left within a few minutes and never returned. The second maintenance worker came in and sprayed a chemical air freshener into the vents, which I immediately asked him to stop because of a sensitivity to breathing chemicals and it wasn’t solving the issue. The third maintenance worker was Yendry R, who did his best to thoroughly clean the air conditioner and change the air filter. I really appreciate his work ethic and intention to do a great job. Even after he did his best to clean, I took a photo of the air conditioner which still had black mold and is a serious health hazard. The photo was forwarded to the head of maintenance who was surprised to see the poor condition of the air conditioner and said it would need to be replaced. I have mentioned this issue several times over the years. Please make sure the maintenance team is qualified and highly trained to properly service all air conditioners regularly, thorough cleaning, changing air filters, and replacing when there is mold. Breathing clean air from well-maintained air conditioners is a necessity and priority.
Toward the end of our trip I shared some feedback regarding some issues we had during our stay with the Interim Chief. He did not handle that conversation well. He responded rudely and became defensive. I explained that he wasn’t “hearing” me and that I was only offering information to improve the member experience. To his credit, he dropped his defensiveness and offered a solution that felt better for my daughter and I. As interim Chief, we expect a higher level of training in customer service, communication skills, compassion and care.
My intent in sharing what we love and what could be better is from a sincere love and appreciation for our beloved Club Med Punta Cana family. Hopefully, these suggestions will be implemented for the improvement of the member experience. Overall, what we love far exceeds what could be better, which is why we return again and again.
