What To Expect In The Winter
Our Must-Try Winter Activities
Dog Sledding
Dog sledding–or “dog mushing”--is a thrilling way to take in the picturesque landscapes of the Italian Alps. This traditional alpine form of transportation puts you on a sled pulled by a speedy team of Huskies. You’ll wind through glittering fields of snow and thick alpine forests to embrace views of the surrounding peaks. This is one of the most memorable ways to experience the Alps.
Olympic Skiing
The Piemonte region in the Italian Alps hosted the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics. Club Med Pragelato-Sestriere Resort hosted the ski jump and cross-country ski competitions. You, too, can partake in skiing this Olympic mountain range at one of several destination ski towns and villages, including Sestriere, Claviere, Bardonecchia, Prali, Val Vermanasca and Val Chisone Pagelato. Experience your own Olympic greatness.
