From January 26th to February 9th, 2025, during my vacation at Club Med Ixtapa, I took beginner tennis lessons, and Julio was the instructor. From January 25th to February 8th, 2026, during my vacation at Club Med Cancun, I took beginner pickleball lessons, and Julio was also the instructor for those lessons. Julio is a highly skilled and dedicated coach. He is patient and meticulous in his teaching, helping players learn and improve their skills. Each lesson is well-structured and engaging, providing a challenging yet manageable experience. Most importantly, he and his teammates always bring positive energy to the court, making me feel enthusiastic and excited to play every time. If you're planning to learn pickleball and tennis at Club Med Cancun, I highly recommend this coach.
I would also like to thank the sailing team, MAX and PAUL, for their help in Cancun. PAUL was my sailing instructor during my vacations at Club Med Ixtapa and Cancun, and he is also a very dedicated instructor. In Ixtapa, he taught me how to sail, and now I love sailing! Thank you, PAUL. If you want to learn sailing, I highly recommend PAUL and MAX's sailing team.

We had a lovely stay - the rooms could use an upgrade but everything outside of that was excellent. Great service, beautiful grounds, lots to do. We had a few sit down dinners and particularly enjoyed Taco Arte - dinner was yummy and the staff and out excellent waiter Fernando were so accommodating (brought us something off the menu for my picky child). The kids particularly loved the week!

If you want have a view, food, speak French, aqua activates, food all day and drinks, and a schedule full of nice activities for the family, this is your place

We had a very good stay at Club Med Cancun. The location is beautiful, the village stretches along the beach, and golf carts make it easy to get around. There are several great bars, two specialty restaurants, and an excellent main buffet. The food was honestly beyond expectations.
A special mention goes to the Chief de Village, José Luis. We’ve been to many Club Meds over the years, and it’s rare to see a Chief de Village this present and involved in daily village life. He was everywhere — around the resort, at events, at the end-of-day parties — always with great energy and true Club Med DNA. That leadership clearly reflects in the quality, attitude, and engagement of the team.
Our kids enjoyed Teen Club, and thank you to Nono and Thais for creating a relaxed, fun, and positive atmosphere. For adults, cocktails were a highlight thanks to JP at the main bar and Orlando, both excellent bartenders. Mario at Taco Arte also stood out with his energy and friendliness.
One important point to note is accessibility. There are many stairs around the village without railings. Reaching the beach from the buildings involves steps with no handrails, and near the kiosk, the steps leading to the elevator also have no railings. My husband has mobility issues, and at the sailing shack he actually had to hold onto bushes to stabilize himself. Accessible routes exist, but they often require long detours, which can be challenging. Adding railings in key areas would make a big difference, especially for older or mobility-limited GMs.
We also noticed that tipping during the stay seems to be becoming more common, which is something we hadn’t really seen before at Club Med. Tipping itself isn’t an issue, as long as the overall experience remains the same for all guests and the traditional Club Med spirit stays intact. Keeping things balanced — or perhaps encouraging tipping at the end of the stay — helps preserve the unique atmosphere that has always set Club Med apart.
Finally, we really missed the tradition of GOs sharing meals with GMs. Breaking bread together has always been part of what created that special “tribe” feeling at Club Med — it builds connection, strengthens loyalty, and makes guests feel truly part of the village. Several other GMs we spoke with felt the same way. Encouraging and valuing this tradition helps keep members faithful and reinforces what makes Club Med different.
Overall, Club Med Cancun does shine — great facilities, excellent food, strong leadership, and many wonderful staff members. With improved accessibility and continued care for core Club Med traditions, it can shine even more, very much like Club Med in its best years.
