Fabulous week in Club Med La Plagne and off piste instruction by Nico was excellent and safe. We’ll be back.
This is my third trip to club med La Plagne and already booking for next year. Yes the club is a bit dated round the edges as many reviews say but compared to other club med destination, in newer resorts, everything they offer make this a truly exceptional value for money trip for our team of 7 friends. This year was the first year we thought we’d try the ski lessons. Weather and snow conditions were great so we opted for 3A as it included a bit of off piste. With the group we had and the excellent ESF instructor Nico (Nicolas Jacquemart) we ended up with 5 days solid of the best off piste skiing and learning I have had in 40+ years of skiing. Nico was safe, friendly and fun, measured our group brilliantly over the week and pushed us all to our safe limits. Can’t believe we haven’t used this service before… a must…
As for the rest of the resort with a new manager the service, food and attentive staff seem to have moved up a notch if that is possible. Serving this number of guests with great food and drinks on mass is a challenge they meet everyday with a smile. The entertainment isn’t usually to our taste as a bit too amateurish but can be fun but this year there was more live music from bands and this was excellent - especially the Grasslers.
I know next year may be last before refurb (they hinted at this last year) but a few things to note / fix / change
The app is great but I couldn’t book a massage on it despite it saying you could in your leaflets. The previous two years it was fully booked on arrival so this year I finally managed to get the last slot by going through ski solutions … booking needs to be in app and easier. Aisha (not sure how to spell) was great and really sorted my body after three days of tough off piste. However in the spa the hot tub didn’t seem to work properly with no bubbles and the steam room was too hot.
Another general issue is confusion of member status and how points work. To make life easier when we first booked I was group leader so booked the trip. For the 2nd trip, it was easier for those coming from Scotland to book their group separately. We all got app notifications that we had €50 vouchers but only realized on spending that this was one per group not each.. really not clear. It has also become clear we should all have booked individually and after a few trips we’d each get this voucher. Our English group of 4 wanted to split to 2 groups of 2 as jointly we have 40,000 points so we’d get a voucher for each group but we’ve been told CM won’t split them and only I can keep the points as group leader. This seems very short sighted as we are more likely to book more club med family trips as smaller groups or individuals so good to have more flexibility and clearer rules…
Pool table great but can you get new cues and have a chalk attached to the table so it doesn’t wander - also a light overhead would help.
Other than the above still 5/5 from me and a big shout out to Nico who made the trip for us this year

Nico (ESF instructor) added another level to Club Med’s consistently excellent service & catering
Great fun week with 6 friends. Highlight this year was the 5 days of ski lessons / guiding with brilliant ESF instructor, NICO.
Been to CM La Plagne twice before (catering & service excellent), but not used the included lessons until this visit (why not? I now ask myself).
Nico’s skills, knowledge, enthusiasm, & personality, coupled with great off-piste ski conditions this week, made it an even more brilliant trip.

Wonderful family stay with an outstanding team and amazing ski experience, disappointing party experience
We had an excellent stay at Club Med La Plagne 2100. The resort itself is outstanding, and what truly made the experience exceptional was the team, which was consistently top-notch throughout our stay.
I would like to especially highlight the friendliness, attention, and professionalism of several teams and individuals.
The entire bar team was fantastic, with special thanks to Oren and Jessica for their warmth and great service.
The Mini Club team also deserves special recognition: our son felt cared for and well looked after at all times, particularly thanks to Matias, who did an outstanding job making him feel safe and happy.
At the reception, Andre, Lucas, and Tomer were always helpful, attentive, and proactive whenever we needed assistance.
Our whole family made great use of the ski facilities and equipment, and we benefited from excellent instructors. Elene, Justine, and Emily were wonderful, as were the beginner instructors for children whose names I unfortunately don’t remember. They were responsible for something truly remarkable: our 7-year-old son arrived having never seen snow before and left skiing better than the rest of the family, confidently tackling steep slopes that even his parents were nervous to face.
That said, there are a couple of points where the experience could be improved:
1. Room bed – the bed was quite noisy. To be fair, this is partly on me, as I did not report it or ask for it to be fixed during the stay.
2. Parties and DJ experience – the only truly good party was on Friday, when the event took place in the hotel’s nightclub. Coincidence or not, this was also the only night when the DJ did not negatively impact the atmosphere by focusing almost exclusively on a small, older, local audience. Meanwhile, younger guests — and also not-so-young guests who still enjoy a good party, like myself — were left waiting around the dance floor for the moment when the DJ would realize that an international playlist was needed to bring people in. That moment never really came.
Occasionally, a Brazilian or Israeli song (the two largest guest groups during our stay) would be played, immediately filling the dance floor — only for the momentum to be cut short by a return to French tracks, causing the floor to empty again. I genuinely believe that a DJ with a more international background would significantly improve the party experience for guests.
Still on this topic, the best and longest party was on Friday night, which is also the only night held in a different venue. Ironically, this happened when many guests were still planning to ski the next day. In my opinion, a party like this would make much more sense on Saturday — the last night of the stay — or on both Friday and Saturday. Instead, Saturday, which should be the peak of the trip, ended with a rather underwhelming party.
Overall, despite these points, our stay was fantastic, and the quality of the team and the ski experience made it truly memorable. I would gladly return and recommend the resort, especially for families.

Enjoyable Stay
We had a great stay at Club Med La Plagne 2100. The Resort is amazing, the slopes and snowboard instructor was excellent and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Staff were very friendly, always greeting you and happy to help.
Entertainment was a mixed bag, some excellent shows with some random ones. Sadly when they walk out into the crowd to pick people to go up on stage I check out and leave. But there were some very good shows with some talented people.
Food was good, they are constantly feeding you and after burning so many calories on the slopes it was nice to eat it all back throughout the day.
I didn't do any of the other activities on offer as I was on the slopes all day, but I did enjoy the stretching class every evening, really helped after a tough day.
My only criticism of the hotel and why it didn't get the full 5 stars is the size of the restaurant, it is on the smaller side so with an almost full hotel it felt really busy and crammed when trying to get food for each meal. They did have some teething issues with not enough seating and some food would run out quickly and you would have to wait, but this was the 1st week open and they already started to fix these by the end of the week.
Overall a pleasant stay and a fantastic resort for skiing/snowboarding.
