12th Trip to ClubMed Ixtapa!

5/55/5 • 6/23/2025

As always we had a wonderful time filled with fun activities lead by the nicest GO's. From fitness to wellness, water and lands ports everyone made us feel welcome and ensured that we had the best time. The bar and wait staff were excellent and we loved the authentic Mexican food as well as all the international dishes. The beach was beautiful and well maintained. We enjoyed the various shows of entertainment each night as well as mingling and dancing with the GO's afterwards. Job well done by chief de village Daniel and all his managerial staff! We will be back for sure. A bientot!

Great service

The rooms need some maintenance but the service was amazing. Specially from servers at the restaurant. Albert, gregorio and the rest were the best.

Beautiful stay with personal touches in Ixtapa

5/55/5 • 6/22/2025

Just back from a week at Club Med Ixtapa in mid-June. I traveled with a group of 10 (5 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 3 to 16), and as is always the case with CM, we all found something to like.

Some notes on Ixtapa vs other Club Med locations: Ixtapa’s small size makes it much easier to incidentally run into friends even if you aren’t doing the same activities— much less need to coordinate with one another as in a busy club like Cancun. In mid June, it wasn’t too busy, there was never a wait for activities or food, and we didn’t see any of the Club Med stress behaviors that show up when club nears capacity (nobody camping shady chairs on the beach at 7am!!). One more great thing is that because club is so small, the entire grounds are very lovely and you can see/hear the ocean from almost everywhere on the grounds.

A couple more notes: as always, the staff made a huge impact on us. Thank you to all the awesome GOs and GEs who made our stay interesting and fun. Thanks especially to: the staff of Petit Club (Tyra, Ana, Fefa, Lorena and any others I missed) for making sure my twins had a wonderful day every day; Elliot (you were right about the city of Ixtapa!) and the rest of the team at reception, especially for helping us when our AC broke on the final night; Jersey for the fun of aqua gym; the team at sailing whose names I missed; Maria and Ricardo from the restaurant team who always provided great service on the terrace. (As an aside, we remembered Ricardo from our very first trip to Ixtapa in 2019, and it made my group happy to see him again); Xaris, Marichuy, Ruth and the front of house staff at the spa; and all the GOs who dined with us and said hi around the resort the rest of the week.

Last but not least noteworthy bit: we got a fair amount of rain during our trip due to tropical storm Erick. I felt Club did a great job of keeping guests sheltered and entertained throughout the rain, and I was impressed by how quickly maintenance was done on the grounds during and after the storm. Thanks again to the reception team for making sure we had umbrellas when we needed them!

Playing with OLD BALLS :)

4/54/5 • 6/20/2025

Been here several times. It was the first time in June. Normally, I come in December right before Christmas. I love this particular resort because of the swimmable beach, location feels removed from the chaos of other resorts, tennis, activities, and food. The training of friendly staff is a signature experience that they continue to do well on.

However, there were observations of note:

  1. Food was not as good as before.
  2. Tennis clinic was great however, they need access to new / newer balls.

TIP for tennis players: If you are used to playing with new fresh balls be sure to bring a case or a few cans of balls.

To buy balls locally, it can cost up to $20 for a can of three balls. I guess it's too expensive for the tennis center to provide. Had we known, we would have brought a case of balls or at the very least our old balls which are still better than what they have.

Also... for the amount of money that we spent to bring our families here... we were a little disappointed.

BRING TENNIS BALLS. If you gift the tennis center a case of Balls they will absolutely LOVE you. So if you are coming soon, put that on your packing list.
