- Lamezia Terme is 18 km from Club Med. There is a wealth of cultural interest in the region, including the ruins of the Abbey of Santa Maria di Corazzo, the Terina archeological zone and the ruins of the Norman castle. The surrounding area is of great natural beauty, and there is a fine botanical garden.

- Vibo Valentia is 20 km from Club Med, and has a fascinating historic centre. The Norman castle houses the national archeological museum. Other monuments worth a visit are the cathedral, the church of the Rosario and the ruins of the Greek city.

- Pizzo Calabro is a small mediaeval town built on the ruins of Napitia. It was destroyed in the 4th century BC by the Saracens, and rebuilt by the survivors in the early 10th century. Overlooking the sea, its centre is a labyrinth of narrow streets that spring to life in the summer months. There are some remarkable views from parts of the city centre. It is also famous for the small Piedigrotta church, built in the rock on the sea front, in the late 17th century.
