Hurricane Fiona Updates
All the updated information about Hurricane Fiona
Official Statement
September 19th, 2022
The Club Med resorts in the Dominican Republic were impacted by Hurricane Fiona as the storm passed the island on September 18 and 19. The resorts are well prepared for the storm and there are no reports of any injuries to guests or staff at this time.
The resort teams are working quickly to clean the resorts and to reopen the onsite restaurants and activities as soon as they can safely do so. The team is currently assessing the impact of the storm to the resorts and the infrastructure on the island and are also working with local government agencies to assess the impact throughout the region.
In order to ensure guests have the highest level of service and comfort, Club Med has taken the decision to delay new arrivals to both Club Med Punta Cana and Michès Playa Esmeralda until Saturday September 24, 2022.
For guests traveling to the resort between September 20 and September 23, 2022: please call 1-800-258-2633 to rearrange your vacation.
Guests currently in the villages when the storm hit are covered by Club Med’s Hurricane Protection Plan. Club Med will offer these guests a Future Travel Certificate (FTC) for the value of the land portion of their vacation for the number of nights impacted by Fiona.
We are closely monitoring the Hurricane and are working to ensure that our guests are not only safe but minimally impacted during the passing of the storm. The safety, security and well-being of our guests and staff is always, and remains, the highest priority in every situation.
Thank you for your continued support of Club Med.
