The Discovery Centre offers a variety of excursions to discover the country.
The program of the excursions and the prices are given for information only. Prices can change during the season according to the current rate of the country. Excursions have to be paid on the premises with local currency.

Le chantier de l'Hermione
This circuit takes you round the shipyard where the La Fayette frigate was built. You'll see all the shipbuilding professions at work.

Mortagne and Beaulon castle (1/2 day)
Visit (with commentary) of the marshlands of Mortagne sur Gironde to discover the estuary's migratory birds, followed by a visit to the Beaulon domain with its 15th century castle, exceptional gardens and remarkable blue fountains. Taste the local Pineau des Charentes wine.
Palmyre Zoo
Talmont and Meschers sur Gironde (1/2D)
Departure from Club Med to visit one of the most beautiful villages of France, Talmont sur Gironde. Your guide will explain its history, fame and legends, through its paved streets and picturesque sites.
You'll then be taken underground to visit the troglodyte caves at Meschers sur Gironde.
The Cordouan lighthouse
Excursion recommended by our Discovery excursions office. The king of lighthouses, the lighthouse of kings or the Versailles of the seas... There are any number of perfectly appropriate qualifiers to describe the oldest of all French lighthouses that has watched over the Gironde estuary since 1611. The crossing sets out from Royan and you get your feet wet when landing. The Gironde Estuary
A 2 and a half hour boat ride in the heart of Europe's biggest estuary.
You'll see the Cordua lighthouse, the Meschers cliffs with their troglodyte caves, and the Talmont peninsula.
