Sandpiper Bay's Fitness Director places 2nd in Cancun Ironman Triathlon

(MIAMI, Fla. – Sept. 19, 2011) – Professional tri-athlete and five-time Ironman Champion, Heather Gollnick, has done it again – winning second place in the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon held on Sept. 18, 2011, in Cancun, Mexico, finishing the race in just under 4 hours and 46 minutes. The Cancun Ironman Triathlon started with a 1.18 mile swim in the ocean, continued with a 56 mile cycling race and ended with a half marathon race of 13.2 miles, for a total of 70.3 miles.

(March 17, 2011—Miami) – Re-opened in mid-December after launching a $25 million transformation, Club Med Sandpiper Bay has exceeded expectations in its year-to-date performance by delivering 30% more bookings and 50% more sales than achieved in the entirety of Winter 2010.
