MIAMI, Fla. – Sept. 19, 2011 – Professional tri-athlete and five-time Ironman Champion, Heather Gollnick, has done it again – winning second place in the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon held on Sept. 18, 2011, in Cancun, Mexico, finishing the race in just under 4 hours and 46 minutes. The Cancun Ironman Triathlon started with a 1.18 mile swim in the ocean, continued with a 56 mile cycling race and ended with a half marathon race of 13.2 miles, for a total of 70.3 miles.
Heather Gollnick currently serves as the Fitness Director for the Club Med Fitness Academy at Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Florida. Under the direction of Gollnick, the Club Med Fitness Academy focuses on educating each individual on what it takes to lead a healthier, happier life and offers a variety of enriching programs from Triathlons and Extreme Pilates Retreats to Zumba and Circus Yoga Camps.
