Club Med Mixes it Up with Travel + Leisure for an Exotic Food & Wine Festival
Club Med Punta Cana will welcome foodies, master sommeliers and more than two dozen world-class chefs to the Travel + Leisure sponsored Club Med Food & Wine Festival, September 27 – October 4, 2009.
“Our first-ever partnership with Travel + Leisure, the authority for the discerning traveler, is a natural fit for Club Med and builds on the success of past Food & Wine festivals,” stated Sabina Sicuso, vice president of marketing, Club Med. “Whether it’s the tang of the Caribbean Cook-off or the specialty cocktails, our newly renovated Punta Cana resort is a premier destination for foodies everywhere.”
With fine dining and catering experience from across North America and Hawaii, the Food & Wine Festival will feature the distinct flavors of 32 different gourmet chefs. Featured chefs include ‘Canada’s Crazy Canuck BBQ Kingpin’ Ted Reader, Oceanaire’s Sean Bernal and Monettes’ Matthew Zubrod among others. Festival highlights include the first annual Caribbean Cook-off, featuring a face-off of favorite regional recipes from a number of chefs. Guests can also participate in wine tasting events and seminars on topics ranging from cigar rolling to rum making. This week-long event will be led by Club Med’s Corporate Chef, Erik Peters. Enriching epicurean senses through a diverse array of events, Peters and his colleagues will guide patrons through seven days and nights in one of the Caribbean's most stunning locations. Club Med Punta Cana features the newly renovated Hispaniola, the largest oceanfront restaurant in the Caribbean, as well as the La Samana restaurant and the Celeste Bar & Lounge.
Club Med’s Food & Wine Festivals highlight the brand’s exceptional culinary offerings and are included in the all-inclusive package price. Festival rates start at $207 per night per person. In addition to the variety of land and water activities offered by Club Med, guests will experience all-star cooking demonstrations, sommelier a
