Baggage Policies


Airlines may impose limitations and fees for carry-on and checked bags. Please consult with your airline for their applicable baggage policy - note that fees may vary based upon number of bags, your frequent flyer status and other factors. Some airlines have codeshare arrangements with other carriers - please verify which specific airline will be operating the flight (it will be listed on your voucher). Please note that typically the baggage policy of the first airline you fly will apply; however, if you have booked on the Allegiant Air charter flight to Ixtapa, please see the special baggage policy for that flight.

If you are taking a connecting flight to meet the Club Med charter (operated by Allegiant Air) in Los Angeles, please note that you may be subject to that connecting airline's baggage policy. You will be required to claim your baggage in LA and re-check them in at the Allegiant Charter desk at the Los Angeles airport. The baggage fees for the Allegiant Air portion of your flight are set forth below. For the baggage fees associated with any connecting flights you may have booked, please refer to that specific airline's policy. For your convenience, links to the main airline baggage policies are attached here.

A maximum of 4 pieces of baggage checked per ticketed passenger is allowed. One piece of baggage will be checked for free. Each checked piece may not exceed 50 pounds. Each additional bag in excess of 1 free bags will be assessed a fee of $50 USD per bag. Each checked bag weighing more than the 50 pound limit will be assessed overweight baggage fees as follows:
- Bags weighing 51-70 pounds are charged a $25 USD fee per overweight bag.
- Bags weighing 71-99 pounds are charged a $50 USD fee per overweight bag.
- Bags weighing 100 pounds or more are considered cargo and will not be carried.
In addition, all passengers are allowed to board with one piece of carry-on baggage plus a personal article. The carry-on bag’s dimensions cannot exceed a total of 49 linear inches (length + width + depth) and the bag cannot weigh more than 35 pounds. The carry-on bag must fit underneath the seat or in an enclosed overhead bin. CLUB MED shall inform its passengers in writing of such limitations.
